ECOLOGICAL FIELD STUDIES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS AT KITUBULU CENTRAL FOREST RESERVE IN ENTEBBE
Kitubulu Central Forest Reserve (natural part of it) is dominated by Raphina farinifera palms and associated with swamp vegetation representing a relic of once an expanse of Lake Victoria forest system with rich bio-diversity. It has over 200 tree and plant species, over 75 bird species and over 60 species of butterflies. The CFR also hosts varieties of small primates, rodents, bats and squirrels.The artificial portion (planted) has mainly Eucalyptus spp and Maesopsis eminii. The natural portion of the reserve appears to have regenerated as this is evidenced by the presence of large stumps of trees dating almost 45 years old.
We provide these for secondary school students and we are working partnership with the Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Centre (UWEC) to provide experienced Conservation Educators to offer the best for the students.
